Group Guitar and Piano Lessons
Group Guitar and Piano Lessons are a collaborative, social learning environment where students of varied levels learn together rather than one-on-one. The class emphasizes fun, teamwork, and self-directed learning, blending classic methods with engaging technology and encouraging students to support and inspire one another. Regular opportunities to play and share in front of the group help build confidence and reduce performance anxiety, while balanced teacher guidance keeps the environment relaxed and enjoyable.
Why Group Lessons?
The benefits are clear.
When your child plays music in a group setting, here’s what happens:
Fun, social environment | when you or your child plays in a group setting, they experience a sense of belonging, teamwork, and camaraderie. We love building community and friendships outside of school and sports.
Self-directed learning | When your child is empowered to learn independently, their confidence and empathy will grow. They will learn new skills on their own and experience the creativity, self-expression, and experimentation that comes with this mindset.
Combination of technology and classic methods | We embrace the fun and gamification that comes from video games without overdoing it on screen time.
Friendly competition | when your child sees others ahead of them and behind them, they’ll feel inspired by those that are further along and proud to help those a few steps behind. The opportunities for leadership and teaching others will naturally present themselves. Friendly competition is a great motivator.
Balanced Teacher Guidance | We’re not into helicopter teaching, because no one enjoys someone constantly watching their every move over the shoulder. This approach means a more relaxed environment, with less anxiety and frustration.
Sharing Opportunities | Playing in front of others can sometimes be nerve wracking. In each session, your child will share their progress with the class; a great way to increase confidence and reduce performance anxiety over time. When recitals roll around, they’ll feel eager and excited to show their progress, because they’ve been flexing that performance muscle the whole time (without even realizing it).
