Ztunes Virginia Highland
Wednesdays, 7:15-8:15 with Ms. Stephanie / $280 per semester
Fall 2024: Aug 14 to Dec 18
(NO CLASS: Oct 16, Nov 27)
The Ztunes Jazz Band was founded in Spring 2022 to bring together students who are interested in learning about and playing jazz in a group setting. The jazz band meets every week to learn jazz techniques, study and rehearse jazz standards, and build ensemble performance skills. They perform at several recital and popup performance opportunities throughout the semester. Instrumentation for jazz band is typical: trumpets, saxophones, trombones, drums, keyboards, bass, and guitar; however, it is not limited to these instruments. We welcome all instruments! Previous experience in a jazz band is not required.
The group is led by Ms. Stephanie. Ms. Stephanie has degrees in trumpet performance from Indiana University and the University of Michigan, where she studied both classical and jazz styles. She currently plays with several jazz groups around Atlanta, including The Atlanta 13, 120 East, and the Son Jazzy Orchestra.
