ARITRO RAY
Violin, Viola
Aritro is a violinist originally from Dallas, TX and has been classically trained from the age of 6. While attending Emory University, he majored in Neuroscience and Chemistry and performed with the university symphony orchestra. Aritro studied with Dr. Emily Daggett Smith, acclaimed violinist and first violin of the Vega Quartet, and was awarded the Edward Goodin Scruggs Principal Second Chair in his senior year and placed first in the 2023 Concerto and Aria competition under her tutelage. He made his solo debut with the Emory symphony orchestra in the same year, performing the Shostakovich Violin Concerto.
Aside from his virtuosic and orchestral pursuits, Aritro has been an avid pedagogue since high school and worked with students of diverse ages and backgrounds. His approach prioritizes building strong technical foundations while imbuing students with a deep appreciation for classical music and the skills to independently approach novel pieces. In his free time, Aritro enjoys weightlifting, exploring nature areas across the US, and attempting to improve his culinary skills. |
